Born in London in 1949, I came to Plymouth with my family in
1955. I have always had an interest in drawing and painting and took up oil painting in 1989.

Since then, I have also painted with acrylics, watercolours, gouache and mixed-media & collage and I feel that there is a lot to enjoy in all of these mediums.
As well as my membership of the East Cornwall Society of Artists, I have been the secretary of the Plymouth Arts Club for over 20 years and organise plein-air painting events in Plymouth over the summer period each year.
Since retirement, I am now spending more time painting outdoors in watercolour or gouache, and the occasional pen & wash.
My most recent work has been producing plein-air paintings in the various nature reserves in Plymouth, which culminated in an exhibition of Ham Woods paintings during the Plymouth Art Weekender in 2020, and subsequent paintings made since then are continually on show in the St Pancras Church Hall Café, I also have a selection of pen & watercolour plein-air paintings of Mutton Cove exhibited at the Devonport Live gallery in Plymouth.
I have enjoyed exhibiting and selling works and hope to continually improve and produce interesting/pleasing work.
