Joining a local art group about five years ago gave me both the motivation and the skills to start exploring watercolours and gouache. Lockdown was then an opportunity to diversify into pastels and I have since had time to explore and develop in this medium. I have found that I really enjoy the hands-on nature of working in pastels, although I do end up quite messy!
My real passion is plein air painting and recording the feelings of being sat in some of the beautiful places that I’ve explored with my husband while he has been rock climbing. I very much enjoy the therapeutic benefits of being so close to nature and feeling at one with it.
I am very excited to now be living in such a beautiful place, and really look forward to spending a lot more time outdoors painting.
