I have not really painted, as opposed to drawing, until 2009 but ever since have been gradually learning to use acrylics and develop my skills mainly self-taught but having attended a few courses in Truro and Penzance along the way. Living mainly in Cornwall since 2009 I find myself wanting to capture the lovely colours and natural beauty and drama of the landscape, the seascapes and the wildlife of Cornwall.
I normally paint in acrylic using brush and pallet knife, but occasionally use other media. I take a lot of photographs and many of my paintings are created by referencing a photograph I have taken myself. I started exhibiting my work as part of the local art group in Fowey during the Fowey Festival about 10 years ago. For the last five Fowey Art Trails I have exhibited solo opening my own studio to the public.
