Kenneth John Isaac

Born in 1950, grew up in Cornwall left in 1966,then got the chance of retiring early and moving back, settling in Looe.
I now have a small studio in my attic that overlooks the harbour and out to sea, I sometimes have to pinch myself because I’ve been so lucky, living and painting in such a beautiful part of the world, but I think I could be bias, being a cornishman.
Some people say I have got a unique style in my painting, I don’t paint in the traditional way like most oil painters, that goes for all my work what ever medium I’m working in.
I’ve been a member of the E.C.S.A. for about ten years, and we all feel very privileged to have such beautiful gallery to exhibit our work in.
You can’t help but be inspired by the wide open spaces of the windswept moors, with their craggy outcrops, ancient stone circles and quoits, not forgetting more recent relics of tin and copper mines. I love the mist shrouded tors and the light on the landscape when the sun breaks through, changing the colours of bracken and marsh to rose and gold.
This is what inspires me and what I try to capture in my paintings.

I paint in both pastels and watercolour, choosing the medium which I hope best suits the subject.
